Source of this data

This data is drawn from an ongoing research project which is a collaboration between VisitScotland, VisitBritain / VisitEngland and VisitWales.  It is tracker research which means that the same core questions are asked in each wave of the research.  This allows trends (eg changes in people's intention to travel) to be tracked. 

The aim of this research was originally to track the recovery of tourism within the UK during the COVID pandemic, by gathering insight on people's sentiment (their feelings about the situation) and their intention to take a holiday or short break in the UK. 

Many of the findings now relate to the impact of cost-of-living rises on people's sentiment and holiday intentions.
