Business Insights - Approach to Net Zero

While the results of the BICS are released in fortnightly waves, some Net Zero specific questions are asked less frequently. The wave number and corresponding dates of the latest available data is displayed at the top right corner of each tab.

These analyses are based on responses from the voluntary fortnightly business survey (BICS). This is conducted by the Office for National Statistics to deliver real-time information to help assess issues affecting UK businesses and economy, including financial performance, workforce, trade, and business resilience.

Further Scotland-specific analysis is carried out by the Scottish Government, and we have visualised some of the key points relevant to tourism.

This dashboard looks at businesses within the Accommodation and Food Services Sector (Section I). This sector is made up of a range of subsectors such as hotels, camping sites and other forms of short stay accommodation, restaurants, cafes, bars and other food services.
